About Momentum

Momentum Leadership & Execution is my work with leaders who are in a moment of change – growth, transition, new complexity – and need a team and a system that can carry the mission forward.

About me

I’m Cory Powell. I’ve spent more than two decades building teams and leading change in places that, frankly, are built to resist it.

I spent the bulk of my career working in newsrooms, with deep roots in print. In the daily manufacturing world of newspapers, the product ships every day. And the inputs – all of them – changed every day. In order to protect and ensure accuracy and credibility, teams built processes that ran the same way, day after day.

That’s a great system – until the world changes. And then you need to change the system without breaking trust.

That’s the work I learned how to do: find the champions, get people aligned around a clear mission, line up training and resources, and spread a new practice across an organization until it becomes the norm.

What i do now

I help owners, executive directors and other leaders:

  • build or strengthen a leadership team they can trust

  • get clear on roles and expectations (the right people in the right seats)

  • install a simple weekly rhythm that drives follow-through

  • create visibility without CC culture (a short scorecard, a trusted issues list)

  • bring decision clarity to the decisions that keep bouncing “up”

what you can expect

When we work together, here’s what you can count on:

  • Practical, not performative: we focus on the few changes that will matter in the real world.

  • Tailored, not templated: I meet you where you are and build what fits your business and your season.

  • Team-first: tools only work when the team is clear, aligned, and bought in.

  • Calm accountability: clear owners, clear next steps, and a steady rhythm.
